Canadian Red Cross delegate David Allison has just arrived in Sierra Leone to support the on-going cholera response. Since January, over 11,000 cases have been reported and over 175 people have died.
David, a regional health officer from Newfoundland, is looking forward to using his skills in needs assessment, health promotion and community education. He feels one of the most rewarding aspects of this type of work is sharing it with others who are more familiar with the situation on the ground and can use his skills as part of a larger team to do this work, which is so desperately needed.
“I don’t know everything, I can’t do everything – but I can offer my expertise and assistance to people on the ground.”
Good luck with your mission David and thank you for helping the Red Cross response in Sierra Leone!
