Photo of the Day: Keeping boaters safe on Calgary rivers

Guest entry by Gordon Lamb, Communications Assistant at the Canadian Red Cross in Alberta

Water Safety with Canadian Red Cross and Calgary Fire Department

The Canadian Red Cross has been working side by side with the Calgary Fire Department to warn Calgarians about dangerous conditions along the Bow River. Despite the recent balmy weather, the rivers are especially high and the fire department has issued warnings against boating until conditions have improved. Red Cross Volunteers and fire fighters pictured here chatted with Calgarians about proper water safety while having fun on both of the city’s rivers. Photo credit: J Keith Howie
