Photo of the Day: Canadians reaching out to Sandy victims

Our very own Gwen Eamer, a contributor to this blog who works from our national office in Ottawa, lends a helping hand to a family in Highlands, New Jersey. Gwen was one of volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross who was sent to assist the American Red Cross with Hurricane Sandy emergency relief.  Pictured here, Gwen spoke to Michael Alvator and his son Robert after they received hot meals from the Red Cross emergency response vehicle. The Alvator family continues to clean out their flood-affected home. Photo Credit: Edgar Maldonado, American Red Cross
