These photos are from Seaside Heights (the area where MTV's Jersey Shore is filmed) which suffered extensive damage from the storm.
Most of the boardwalk was either damaged or completely destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Here you can see parts of the boardwalk deposited on the site of the famous amusement park.
A section of a rollercoaster from the park now rests just off the shore in the Atlantic Ocean.
Volunteers are working around the clock in order to clean up the area.
