The Round-up offers a weekly sample of what our Sister Red Cross Societies are working on around the world.
JAPAN: Patrick Fuller, communications manager for Asia Pacific, is currently in north-eastern Japan supporting his colleagues at the Japanese Red Cross Society following the earthquake and tsunami of 11 March. Read his report about the devastation he has encountered in the town of Otsuchi, where thousands remain unaccounted for.
BOLIVIA: The Bolivian Red Cross is working around to clock to provide assistance to thousands families who have been affected by recent landslides.
LIBYA: One month after armed violence broke out in Libya, the fighting continues and is now spreading to the country’s most populated areas. Yesterday, the IFRC transferred its staff in Benghazi to the eastern city of Tobruk, where they will continue to assist victims of the conflict.
