Red Cross recognized by the City of Sudbury

(L-R) Deputy Mayor Ron Dupuis, Areeda Mohammed DM Co- coordinator , Ted Giannini Volunteer Operation Lead Sudbury Branch and Mayor John Rodrguez.

Congrats goes out to our Sudbury branch, after recent recognition from the City of Sudbury for their outstanding efforts following a fire at Balmoral Apartments on February 3.

It was approximately -30 degrees when a fire broke out in the apartment building and three floors had to be evacuated. Ten Red Cross volunteers were there to help get the people from the building onto city buses provided to help keep them warm. Over the first, crucial few days, the Red Cross was able to provide shelter, food, clothing, personal hygiene items and other support.

Great work!
