Red Cross Toronto Region wins award for being green and healthy

Using environmentally friendly products and working up a sweat at a weekly yoga class helped Red Cross Toronto Region staff and volunteers make themselves and their environment healthier this past year.

So much so that Toronto Region recently won an Odyssey Award - the highest provincial Red Cross award - in recognition of its “Toronto Region Going Green” and “Healthy Living – Toronto Region Team Wellness” initiatives.

The purpose of the “Going Green Project” is to share information, resources and solutions to help staff and volunteers make environmentally-smart decisions at work and outside of work. Out of the “Going Green Project” came “Healthy Living – Toronto Region Team Wellness” which encourages staff and volunteers to adopt healthy lifestyles. Several workshops and courses have been offered including yoga classes and aerobics.

Congrats Toronto Region staff and volunteers!
