The Ride for Red is on the move

Do you like riding your bike? Do you like it so much that you would bike 4000 km in 40 days in 2 countries to raise $1 million?

Well, we have found four individuals who do like it that much. Miss Canada 2009 and three Olympic bobsledders are taking part in The Ride for Red, a cross-border fundraiser with proceeds going to both the Canadian Red Cross and the American Red Cross.

The bike tour started in Calgary late last month, and will end in Santa Monica, CA. The next stop on the tour for the cyclists is today when they ride through Olympia, WA.  There are no plans to ride through Ontario. But, event organizers are hoping to make this an annual event, so maybe they will head our way next year! (*hint hint*)  

Regardless, their efforts have definitely inspired the team at Red Cross Talks to get into better shape (or at least this roving reporter).
