Welcome to the Nova Scotia Region
The Nova Scotia Region of the Canadian Red Cross includes eight full-time Service Centres located in Amherst, Antigonish, Bridgewater, metro Halifax (Burnside), Kentville, Sydney, Truro and Yarmouth. There are also numerous volunteer-run Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) depots across the province. And our Disaster response volunteer team members live in communities throughout Nova Scotia.
Service Centres generally operate weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and offer a full range of programs or services such as Disaster Management and emergency preparedness education, Health Equipment loans, information on Injury Prevention programs such as First Aid & CPR or swimming and water safety, international Humanitarian laws and issues, programs to prevent or stop bullying, harassment and other forms of violence and abuse, Fund Development and donations, and volunteer opportunities and training. Hours for local HELP depots vary and these depots only offer Health Equipment Loan services.
