	Red Cross provides health and hygiene education.

Malnutrition is widespread in India, particularly in rural communities which account for almost 75 percent of the country's population of just over one billion.

The Canadian Red Cross, with funding from the Canadian public and the Girl Guides of Canada, is supporting nutrition programs in three states: providing nutritional supplements to children in Tamil Nadu, training medical staff and volunteers in three Bhopal shanty towns in Madhya Pradesh, and assisting mother and child welfare programs in nursery schools, primary health care centres and hospitals in Uttar Pradesh Hills.

In response to this situation, the Canadian Red Cross is supporting:
