Community Housing
Location: Across Alberta
We are seeking individuals to provide administrative and research support to the Canadian Red Cross Community Reach Development Coordinator. The Red Cross will be conducting research on issues relating to low income individuals and families, poverty and basis needs in the communities of Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Strathmore, Wheatland, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge (a volunteer will be recruited from each of these communities).
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Developing a social service agency database tracking areas of service

Assistance with the development of methodology to conduct research (i.e., focus groups, one-on-one interviews, surveys)

Assist in recruitment of low-income individuals and families for interviews

Assist in facilitating and conducting community events/meetings (i.e., catering, venue, registration, facilitation)

Assist in data collection (note taking), input and analysis

Develop PowerPoint presentations

Assist in final report writing
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of communities in South Alberta
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral (English required)
- Previous research experienced an asset
- Good computer and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Committed to the Red Cross principles and values
REQUIRED COMMITMENT:
A commitment of eight hours per week (February – June 30, 2013)
