Grimsby, ON resident, Peter Zulauf was recently recognized for his many years of dedication and service to the Red Cross by receiving the organization’s highest honour – the Order of the Red Cross, Member Level.

“I am really touched to have received this award,” said Zulauf. “Over the years, I have personally gained so much volunteering with the Red Cross. It’s an incredible organization to be part of.”

Zulauf began volunteering with the Red Cross in 2001. Since that time, he has moved up the ranks – from being a member of the Oakville branch council (2002-2003) to most recently President of Ontario Zone Council (2008-2010) and a member of the National Board of Governors (2008-2012). Over the years, he has received several other Red Cross awards for his leadership and volunteer service to the organization.

The award is a tangible way for the Canadian Red Cross to pay tribute to its volunteers and other individuals who have devoted their time and talents to the service of humanity.

The Order of Red Cross has three levels of membership: Member, Officer and Companion. Annual appointments to the Order are limited to twenty-five Members, five Officers, and three Companions.
