Etobicoke resident an early bird winner in the Canadian Red Cross Lottery

Red Cross Lottery winner Gloria Osborne, from Etobicoke, ON, proudly holds her cheque for $15,000.
Gloria Osborne from Etobicoke is an Early Bird Grand Prize Winner in this year’s Canadian Red Cross Lottery.  She had a choice between a Scion IQ or the worth of the car in cash and chose the money. She was presented on May 29 with a cheque for $15,000 at the Canadian Red Cross, Ontario Zone office in Mississauga.

The retired nurse and grandmother of five said she was in disbelief when she received the news that she had won.  When asked what she is going to do with the money, she replied that she’s thinking about using some of it on a trip to Newfoundland.  This is the first win for Osborne, who has purchased tickets for the Red Cross lottery in the past.

“The Red Cross is a great charity and I am very happy to support the organization,” she said.

It is not too late to purchase a ticket for this year’s lottery. The early bird deadline is June 7.

This year, the Canadian Red Cross Lottery will give away more than 4,300 amazing prizes including cars, cash, dream vacations, and electronics. More than $1 million has been raised this year by the Lottery to support Canadian Red Cross programs and services in communities across Ontario.
