Canadian Red Cross Recruiting Disaster Management Volunteers
February 7, 2012 (Alberta): Whether it’s minus 40, 2 am, one individuals or hundreds of families, the Canadian Red Cross’ Personal Disaster Assistance Team responds to ensure that the most vulnerable people in our community are taken care of. Red Cross teams of highly trained and dedicated volunteers meet with individuals and families who need assistance to meet their basic needs after they have been devastated by a personal disaster such as a house fire or flood. The Red Cross, which has hundreds of trained volunteers throughout the province, will be holding an information session for members of the public from northern Alberta who are interested in volunteering with the Personal Disaster Assistance Team in their community. Other volunteer positions, such as reception support and caseworkers are also being recruited. For more information, or to confirm your interest, please RSVP to 780-805-8470.
