Appeal Assistant
Program/Department: Fund Development
Location: Winnipeg
Purpose:
- Assist the Fund Development Team in organizing community events during International and Domestic Disasters.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Be available when a disaster strikes to help coordinate the influx of community support.
- Understand the dynamics of how community fundraisers are operated in our organization and be able to communicate that to others.
- Receive and record information from incoming calls.
- Distribute fundraising materials to individuals by mail or email.
- Assist with the coordination of speakers or volunteers attending events.
- Follow up with event organizers to collect donations.
Time Commitment:
- Casual days and occasional evening as required.
- Commit to a minimum of one year
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
Requirements:
- Understand and support the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
- Completion of successful Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence if position requires.
Training & Orientation:
- Intro to Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
- Intro to Disaster Services.
- Fund Development training as required.
