Since the second grade, Samantha has asked for donations to charitable organizations in place of gifts, raising close to $15,000 with birthday money. She has successfully fundraised for many organizations including Children’s Wish Foundation, Run for the Cure, War Child and Free the Children. Samantha is responsible for engaging other youth by organizing a new initiative, the Cold Campout, with which she is determined to raise $100,000 for the Canadian Red Cross.

In 2011, Samantha travelled to Kenya with Free the Children where she spent 21 days building a school and engaging with the local community. This experience developed her leadership skills and commitment to sustainable social change throughout the global community.

Samantha shares her passion with every generation and through her mentoring and role as a volunteer coach of an under 10 girl’s soccer team she encourages youth to be actively involved. Samantha also has lasting relationships with the IWK, QEII and Alice House and where she serves those in need. She is the measure of consistency with her dedication to reaching the goals for humanity.

Despite still being a high school student, Samantha has made a tremendous impact on her community and will continue to do so for many years to come.
