Beyond The Hurt (Youth Facilitator Training)
Purpose:
To train selected youth to deliver Beyond the Hurt to youth 11 years of age and over.
Format (Length):
- 14 hour classroom plus observations by Adult Advisors

Course Content/Objectives:
- Healthy relationships and healthy schools
- Power and the role it plays in bullying dynamics
- Four types of bullying
- The roles and dynamics in a bullying situation
- Harassment and prohibitive grounds for discrimination
- Effective and safe responses to bullying
- Helping resources
- Facilitation and presentation skills

Required:
- Beyond the Hurt Manual
- Beyond the Hurt Youth Facilitator ToolKit and Resources
- Beyond the Hurt Youth Facilitator Certificate
Pre-requisites:
- Screening Process
- Associated with an organization that has a signed Training Partner Agreement
Recommended:
- Introduction to RespectED – OnLine
- Introduction to the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement (Please contact your local RespectED representative to sign up.)
- Implementation Plan signed
Considerations:
- Adult Advisors screened for a one year commitment
- Ten Steps to Creating Safe Environments OnLine for Adult Advisors
Additional Notes:
- Minimum age to take this course: 12 years of age.
- Must attend and participate in 100% of the course.
- Successfully demonstrate ability to facilitate Beyond the Hurt to youth
- Must facilitate 2 Beyond The Hurt Youth workshops in the following 12 months
