Service Centre Assistant Volunteers

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? Are you a friendly, outgoing person who enjoys meeting new people every day? Do you want to help the Canadian Red Cross help vulnerable people by providing much needed support to those who need it the most?
The Canadian Red Cross is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable, in Canada and throughout the world.
We are currently seeking volunteers to be the frontline contact for clients in our service centres. Volunteers assist people access our Health Equipment Loan Program and other services, as well as answer inquiries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and respond to the needs and inquiries of walk-in clients as well as telephone inquiries;
- Assist with HELP (Health Equipment Loan Program) including computer use to manage clients and equipment;
- Support Fund Development initiatives by providing clients with the opportunity to support the Canadian Red Cross financially, including receipting;
- Clerical assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Friendly outgoing personality
- Excellent customer service skills
- An interest in learning about the Red Cross
- Basic computer skills are an asset
