Appeal Response Team – Front Line

Position Title: Appeal Response Team – Front Line
Program/Department: Fund Development – 3rd party Activities
Location: Manitoba

Purpose:

  • Support Fund Development with 3rd party fundraising activities within Manitoba.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Respond to public inquires related to 3rd party fundraising events. 
  • Set up and facilitate 3rd party training sessions.
  • Support schools, organizations, churches, legions, individuals and various community based groups with fundraising events through distribution of a 3rd party agreement, case statements, posters, collection boxes/tins. 
  • Record 3rd party activity in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Attend the display booths at fundraising events and respond to public inquiries.
  • Transport and set up/take down display booths at 3rd party events.
  • Pick up donations.
  • Send out non-tax receipts with thank you letters.
  • Provide service based on the standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Revenue Canada Donation Receipting Guidelines. 
  • Maintain an internal Appeal Response Team structure including team leader, team supervisor and workers.

Time Commitment:

  • Participate in semi-annual training activities.
  • Commit for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year.
  • 1 to 2 shifts a week during active appeal.
  • As needed during non-appeal time.

Qualifications:

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Fluent in English (written & oral). Other languages considered an asset.
  • Be able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Be organized, and accurate in attention to detail.
  • Have computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to assist clients in a confidential and sensitive manner.

Requirements:

  • Understand and support the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
  • Completion of successful Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence if position requires.

Training & Orientation:

  • Intro to the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
  • Intro to Disaster Services.
  • Emergency First Aid.
  • Fund Development training as required.
