What fundraising do you do?

The Canadian Red Cross carries out street, door-to-door and telephone fundraising.

Door-to-door and street fundraising are cost-effective ways of recruiting new monthly donors for the Red Cross.

Door-to-door fundraising

Our fundraisers knock on doors to talk to people about our projects and ask them for their support with a monthly gift. In some occasions, they can accept one time gifts by personal cheque or by collecting the individual’s credit card information. Our fundraisers are not allowed to accept bills or coins.

Street fundraising

Canadian Red Cross fundraisers speak to people about our work and ask them to  support Canadian Red Cross operations with a monthly gift. They are not allowed to accept bills or coins.

Telephone fundraising

The Canadian Red Cross has been conducting telemarketing campaigns across the country since 2003.  As part of our monthly giving strategy, our telephone fundraising program asks donors to convert to a new way of giving.

Every year, our telephone fundraisers call thousands of past donors to discuss Red Cross projects and ask for their support again. Those who are called can decide to sign up as a monthly donor or make a one time donation. If they decide not to, they still have the opportunity to learn a great deal about whom we are and what we do.

Canadian Red Cross telephone fundraisers also call to welcome new donors and thank donors for their support
