Our fundraising campaigns

Since 2003, the Canadian Red Cross has been conducting face-to- face, door-to-door and telemarketing campaigns across the country to recruit new monthly donors.

We are aware these types of initiatives can sometimes lead to questions. Please see below for additional information concerning our fundraising campaigns.

Why do you use these fundraising techniques?

Face-to-face canvassing, whether it is on the streets or door-to-door, is one of the best ways to attract new monthly donors.  As for telemarketing, it allows us to have a conversation with our current donors to explain the benefits of a monthly gift to both them, and our organization.  

Face- to- face and telemarketing campaigns have become a huge success over the past few years and continues to be an integral part of our fundraising strategy to target a new demographic of donors we have not already reached through other campaigns. This represents a significant investment in our future.

The value of monthly giving cannot be overstated. The long-term security of these donations lets us plan ahead with confidence and be ready to respond when emergencies occur.

Do you teach them about your work?

In addition to raising money for our ongoing work, Canadian Red Cross fundraisers share news of our projects with thousands of people in all parts of the country. To help make sure our fundraisers are knowledgeable ambassadors for the Red Cross, we hold training workshops to teach them about our history, ideals and projects.  We take pride in the knowledge, enthusiasm and quality of our fundraisers.
