With the number of disasters increasing, there is a need to educate youth on how to prepare for disasters and health emergencies. The Canadian Red Cross offers three free educational programs geared to children to educate them on risks, and how to prepare themselves and their families to respond to a changing global environment. All three of our programs are recommended by Curriculum Services Canada.

Learn what to do after you have experienced a fire or flood in your home.

Bug Out! Get the Facts on Germs features activities on how bacteria and viruses are spread, hand hygiene, cough and sneeze etiquette, when and why to stay home when you are sick, immunization, and influenza pandemic preparedness.

Expect the Unexpected helps youth and their family deal with the impact of natural disasters and adopt disaster preparedness behaviours.

The Facing Fear program complements the Expect the Unexpected curriculum. The program helps youth deal with the psychological impact of conflicts and terrorism.
