Know the risks

Disasters
Canadians have faced many emergency situations in the past, from floods to ice storms, power outages and water supply problems. Understanding the risks in your community will help you prepared.

As a family, discuss what types of natural and technological disasters are most likely to happen in your community. For more information on how to indentify those risks, download our free Expect the Unexpected Guide for Parents. For a map of natural hazards that affect Canada,  click here.
