Our Programs

Each year, more than 110,000 Canadian youth and adults - learn about preventing abuse, violence and neglect through the following award-winning Canadian Red Cross programs:

Presentations to youth 12-years and older:

Promoting Healthy Youth Relationships examines healthy and unhealthy peer romantic relationships, focusing on communication and prevention strategies.

Beyond the Hurt aims to sensitize young people to the devastating impact of bullying, and  teach them ways to react when bullying affects their world. The program is delivered in schools and community groups by youth facilitators, who have been trained by adult Prevention Educators, mentored and are supported by adult advisors.

Workshops for adults who work with youth:

Prevention in Motion helps adults and organizations to create safer environments through an increased understanding of abuse, neglect, their indicators and effects on children.

Programming tailored for Aboriginal people:

Walking the Prevention Circle acknowledges the history, challenges and strengths of Aboriginal individuals and communities. The training circle starts with an awareness of the cycle of violence and moves to prevention with the circle of healing.

Programming for Kindergarten to Grade Three children:

The c.a.r.e. kit (Challenge Abuse through Respect Education) combines story-telling, puppetry and interactive lessons that teach personal safety lessons to help prevent child sexual abuse.

Online Programming in Prevention Education:

We have developed an online learning centre to deliver our award-winning prevention education via Internet. Red Cross OnLine is offering Child/Youth Maltreatment prevention education for individuals wishing to gain practical knowledge and valuable skills for preventing abuse and violence in our communities.
