Disaster Response Volunteers

What if a disaster strikes your community? What if you lose your home to a fire? What if we weren’t there?

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world.

We are currently seeking key volunteer personnel to provide support in the implementation of CRC response plans within their geographic area during disaster operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing support to affected persons.
  • Putting CRC response plans into operation.
  • Responding to client queries, referring, when necessary, to appropriate sources.
  • Completing client assessments and administrative follow-up.
  • Participating in preparedness activities and training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Excellent listening skills & ability to empathize.
  • Ability to work well and make decisions under stress.
  • Flexible, willing to work hours that vary depending on the nature of the disaster.
  • 18 years of age (minimum).
  • Clean criminal records check.
