First Responder Instructor

The purpose of the First Responder Instructor course is to train instructors to teach the First Responder and Oxygen Administration courses.
Course content:
Includes an introduction to the Canadian Red Cross, planning and organizing the course, ensuring participants' health and safety, practice teaching, conducting scenario exercises, evaluating participants' performance and helping to better prepare instructors using various teaching methodologies.
Course Length:
20 hours (not including pre-course testing of knowledge and skills)
Prerequisites:
- Proof of current First Responder or higher with CPR-HCP
- 19 yrs of age or older
- Proof of current Canadian First Aid or equivalent
- First Aid Instructor or Instructor Trainer certification or equivalent
- Successfully complete a pre-course knowledge and skills test.
Recognition:
Successful candidates are certified as Canadian Red Cross First Responders Aid Instructors for 3 years and receive a wallet card upon successful completion of all course requirements including a written examination (min. pasing mark 80%).
