Program HELP (Health Equipment Loan Program)
Position HELP – Data Entry Clerk
Description
The Canadian Red Cross HELP loans health equipment (with medical referral) to people in need. Computerized records keeping and communications are key components to operating a loan depot. Functioning as a frontline computer person, Data Entry volunteers enter client information and loan activity into the data base and on occasion run inventory or statistical reports when required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Data Entry Clerk
- Enters client information and loan activities into the computer
- Run reports
- Maintains inventory records
- Communicates with Team Leader and head office as needed
- Provides excellent customer service to clients, both in-person and over the phone
- Documents all necessary information related to the loaning and return of medical equipment
- Encourages, receives and secures donations in support of the program and/or other Red Cross appeals
- Understands and upholds the Red Cross Fundamental Principles and Mission Statement
- Works as part of a Red Cross team of staff and volunteers
- Complies with Red Cross HELP policies and procedures and is familiar with the equipment provided through this service
Duration: Ongoing; minimum of 6 month commitment
Time Commitment
- Morning and afternoon shifts, approx 3 – 4 hours
- Requested to commit to one shift per week
Location: Throughout the BC Southern Interior – see our depot locations
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable with basic paperwork; legible printing/writing
- Has experience working with Windows and other programs, data entry experience would be beneficial, but not mandatory
- Must enjoy working with people from varied backgrounds and have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Must be a minimum of 19 years of age
- Willing to submit to a Criminal Record Check
