On November 8, 2013, Typhoon Haiyan tore through the Philippines, wreaking havoc and widespread destruction. Three months later, humanitarian efforts continue to provide relief and recovery for the 16 million affected by the disaster. The Red Cross has assisted in many areas such as the distribution of 5.5 million litres of clean water, providing emergency medical care and providing materials and support for the rebuilding of homes and shelters.
As the Red Cross continues to meet the needs of those affected, we are committed to working with the Philippine Red Cross as they continue to respond and help survivors recover from this devastating disaster.
The Canadian Red Cross thanks its individual, corporate and government donors for their support. To find out how your donation continues to make a difference, read the three-month donor report
