The humanitarian situation in Syria continues to deteriorate.  With most of the population directly or indirectly affected, the scale of the crisis is staggering and the humanitarian needs are vast.

The Red Cross continues to work around the clock to help affected individuals.  This includes repairing sanitary facilities and providing families with food and non-food items, such as hygiene kits, kitchen sets, mattresses, and fresh water.

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) is playing a critical role in providing assistance and coordinating humanitarian activities in Syria, as are the National Societies in neighbouring countries for meeting the needs of families fleeing Syria and the host communities.

The Canadian Red Cross is committed to enhancing the humanitarian response to the crisis.  Thanks to contributions from the generous individuals and the Canadian government, the Canadian Red Cross has provided medical supplies and services through the Syrian Red Crescent within Syria. The Canadian Red Cross has also provided food aid, along with other relief supplies, humanitarian experts, and funds.

The needs in Syria remain high. Canadians who want to help provide urgent life-saving assistance to Syrian families can donate to the Canadian Red Cross Syria Crisis Fund. All funds raised will directly support the on-going Red Cross operations in Syria and the region.
