Quebec’s public and parapublic service employees and retirees demonstrated remarkable generosity as they made a $504,842 donation to the Quebec Division of the Canadian Red Cross.

Under the theme “J’ai le don de changer le monde” (I can to change the world), the funds raised as part of the Entraide 2015 campaign will be dedicated to the provision of emergency assistance to those affected by disasters throughout Quebec. The amount of the proceeds from this campaign clearly demonstrates Quebec government employees’ and retirees’ willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need when they are most vulnerable.

“This is the Red Cross’ largest workplace fundraising campaign. The swell of humanity within Quebec’s public service is a testament to the dynamic nature of this long-standing preferred partner. Donor generosity, Entraide Committee initiatives and the employee creativity deployed to ensure the success of this campaign underpin every action taken by Red Cross volunteers when helping those affected by disasters. It is an amazing chain of solidarity!” stated Pascal Mathieu, Quebec Vice President of the Canadian Red Cross.

The Red Cross wishes to thank each and every donor for caring about those who are affected by disasters. Every action has a direct impact on the people who urgently need to rebuild their life. The success of this large-scale campaign is also made possible thanks to the invaluable co-operation of Entraide Committee members who demonstrate such dedication year after year.

About the Entraide Campaign

The Entraide Campaign is a widespread solidarity movement. Each year, public and parapublic service employees and retirees mobilize to support those who are vulnerable throughout Quebec’s territory. Donations are allocated to one of three large philanthropic groups, according to the donors’ wishes.

About the Red Cross in Quebec

Three times a day in Quebec, regardless of the time or place, teams of Red Cross volunteers assist vulnerable people following a disaster: A devastating fire, the threat of a flood, a landslide that sweeps away everything in its path. Families, seniors or people living alone whose lives have just been turned upside down receive critical emergency assistance and can rely on the support and reassuring presence of volunteers.
