The Canadian Red Cross is pleased to announce that nine banks across Canada are accepting cash donations in support of the Red Cross’ efforts to assist Syrian refugees as they transition to their new lives in Canada.

“We are grateful to these banks for making it even easier for Canadians to turn their care and compassion into meaningful assistance,” says Conrad Sauve, President and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross. “Canadian donations will help Syrian refugees begin their transition into new communities, and provide essential services and basic needs assistance in the form of clothing, personal care products, food, and family reunification.”

Over the coming weeks the Red Cross will be working closely with local governments and community partners to fill the gaps in social services and ensure that refugees are well supported. The Red Cross stands ready to provide a variety of services if needed, including assisting people as they arrive in country and helping them transition to their new lives.
