The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking a Case Management Supervisor. The incumbent will support a team of Case Workers, within CRC locations and outreach teams, providing front-line service to individuals and families. The Case Management Supervisor is responsible, in collaboration with the technical advisors, to implement assistance programs in accordance with CRCS Fundamental Principles and the Mission, CRC policies, and Disaster Management (DM) Standard Operating Procedures and approved budgets. Case Management Supervisors will provide approvals against financial allocations in accordance with CRC guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Case management planning and oversite including assessing human resource requirements and transitions from relief to recovery
  • Contributes to the development and monitoring of Case Management Plans
  • Supports the identification of appropriate community linkages and potential partnerships to strengthen and sustain referral structures that reflect the complex needs of affected individuals and families and changing context of the recovery operation;
  • Maintains up to date awareness of CRC programs and services;
  • Ensures the provision of appropriate services as assigned, based on the Technical Standards and the National Guidelines;
  • Provides supervision, support, mentorship and leadership to case workers;
  • Provide assistance to clients with outstanding issues that cannot be fully addressed by caseworkers;
  • Facilitate and mentor personnel to successfully apply the PFA approach in all interactions with affected community members and personnel.
  • Establish and maintain safe & supportive environments for diverse populations in the affected community, including the management of individual complaints;
  • Collaboratively supports caseworkers to manage beneficiary protection incidences;
  • Consolidate and report on emerging trends related to individual wellbeing and community capacity to inform programming;
  • Monitor file processing, documentation and client follow-up;
  • Follows established procedures with accurate attention to detail;
  • Performs other duties, as required.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A college diploma in a related field and 2-4 years experience in case work or community engagement, or a combination
  • Extensive knowledge, experience or an established network in Social Service, Social Work, Counseling, Teaching or allied health professions an asset
  • Well-developed supervisory, listening, assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and non-verbal cues, active listening, clearly able explain self and confirm understanding from client 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Ability to perform data entry at a high level of accuracy and speed in a Client Management data base, Excel and other applications
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive matters and information
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, work in difficult and stressful conditions

 


WORKING CONDITIONS
 
Duties are principally conducted at the Canadian Red Cross office. The majority of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable. Health and Safety Considerations will vary by location and will be provided to candidates for their consideration prior to accepting an assignment.  Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice may be required occasionally.
This position requires a successful Canadian criminal record check.  All convictions will be reviewed by People Services and may not disqualify candidates.  This position requires a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Enhanced Police Information Check.
