Respectful and Inclusive Work Environment

The Canadian Red Cross is deeply committed to its humanitarian mission and creating respectful and inclusive work environments for the people we serve and our personnel.

We recognize that more can and should be done to address and prevent harassment, abuse, discrimination and exploitation in all forms.  As a matter of practice, the Canadian Red Cross works continuously to improve its policies and procedures to prevent the occurrence of such incidents.

The Canadian Red Cross does not tolerate harassment and takes complaints seriously. When incidents of sexual harassment, abuse, discrimination or exploitation are reported we strive to ensure that our handling of all matters is timely, proactive, thorough and proportionate.   

Acknowledging that we work in many highly complex settings with vulnerable populations, often in the aftermath of major disasters or crises, our policies and procedures must be robust enough to function effectively in these settings.
