Peter Collens

Peter resides in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and has been a Chartered Accountant in public practice since 1978. Peter practiced with one of the largest international accountancy firms until 1998 when he resigned his partnership and opened his own office. Peter has limited his practice to income tax matters since 1983. Peter received a Bachelor of Commerce, Honors degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from Concordia University.
 
Peter joined Red Cross in 1995 as the tax representative on the Newfoundland and Labrador Planned Giving Committee. He chaired this committee for several years and remains actively involved. He has served in regional governance capacity in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2004 and was Chair of the Atlantic Council. He joined the Board of Directors in January 2012 and serves on the National Audit and Finance Committee.
 
In his other volunteer endeavors, Peter is currently the President/Treasurer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association. Peter is a past president of the Kinsmen Club of St. John’s and past Treasurer of the Kin Atlantic District. Peter was a governor with the Canadian Tax Foundation.
