Doante to the Aboriginal Outreach Fund
The Canadian Red Cross has a long history working with Aboriginal communities, individuals, and organizations across the country. Natural disasters, such as severe flooding and forest fires, frequently occur in northern regions where many Aboriginal peoples reside.
The Canadian Red Cross is committed to continuing to improve quality of life by partnering with Aboriginal communities and providing them with the training and resources needed to make safe choices, prevent injuries and respond to emergency situations.
Volunteers are the backbone of our operations across Canada and around the world. With your support, we can help train Red Cross volunteers within Aboriginal communities who can teach their neighbours about emergency preparedness and keep themselves, their families and members of their community safe during and following a disaster. In addition, we will empower local volunteers with the training and resources needed to provide vital safety training including first-aid, emergency preparedness and violence and abuse prevention to help build stronger, healthier and safer communities.
The Canadian Red Cross does not compete with community led or managed services nor seek to replace them. We aim to assist and empower communities to drive and lead their own solutions.
