A strong earthquake struck central Mexico on September 19
th at approximately 1:15pm local time 12 kilometers southeast of Axochiapan in the state of Morelos. Preliminary reports indicate several buildings in Mexico City and Puebla have suffered serious damage, collapsed bridges and damage to basic infrastructure.
The earthquake comes only two weeks after another earthquake that hit the country’s south.
The Mexican Red Cross is marshaling their resources and they are on the ground acting as first responders, including pre-hospital care and search and rescue in collapsed structures.
